Bug#58989: Cannot mount new partitions outside of root
Package: boot-floppies
Version: 2.2.7
During the installation process, partitions can be initialized and
mounted at user-specified locations. If I want a new partition be
mounted in a directory several levels deep, and some components of the
path have not yet been created, e.g. /var/www or /home/1 , the
operation fails with "no such file or directory".
The system should create (in the above examples) /var or /home (and
any other path components), possibly prompting the user before doing
so.
If my memory serves correclty, in slink this worked as expected.
Another alternative could be to add an option "create directories"
into the installation menu.
Oh yes, I know I have another console to use for a workaround.
