Install potatoe 2.2.7 of IBM 486 DX2
Hallo,
i have two machines with a 486 CPU (IBM 486 DX2 and 486SLC) with 8MB RAM.
i have a few install-Problems.
- the Modules-Install for the Network-Driver, come with follow error-message:
Note:/etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules/2.2.14/modules.dep
/lib/modules/2.2.14/net/ne.o init_module: Device or resource busy
/lib/modules/2.2.14/net/ne.o insmod /lib/modules/2.2.14/modules.dep
/lib/modules/2.2.14/net/ne.o insmod ne failed
OK I Install the ne.o and 8390.o manually, this work.
- the command depmod -a -b /target come with a error-message:
depend: error reading ELF header: No such file or directory
when i remove the /target/lib/modules/2.2.14/pcmcia path, depmod has no error's
- the install base-system over NFS com with follow error-message:
There was a Problem extracting the Base System from /instmnt/debian/dists/potato/
main/disks-i386/2.2.7-2000-02-13/base2_2.tgz
when i run the command " zcat /.../base2_2.tgz | tar tvf -" this runs fine
With this Problem's i cannot install potato of my boxes, with the boot floppies.
Can I install the basesystem wit the command zcat .. | tar xvf - ?
Thank's
