To be able to install on a compaq smart array the driver needs to be built into the kernel and also needs the devices under the /dev/ida to be created. A workaround could be to have the user copy a custom built kernel onto the boot disk, however I believe the /dev/ida files still need to be created in the ramdisk image.

Also lilo needs to be fixed so that it can boot, I have already submitted a bug report against lilo.

Potato boot-floppies 2.2.5 should close this problem.  If you find the
bug still exists, please either open another bug, or let us know and
we'll reopen this bug.
