since i updated debian potato using apt(this problem is since 2 weeks or so), staroffice is not starting up
correctly. its starts fine until a certain point where the staroffice
"splashscreen" should disappear, but it doesnt and the splash is set to
always top... you can press the staroffice buttons but they dont have any
effect.

The problem is not in Debian. I run Staroffice here without any problem.
Please upgrade to the latest Staroffice 5.1a (I'm speaking to nobody since the
guy sent the bug report with an invalid address).
