booting from dac

So far so good, by manually setting up partitions and mounting them
installation using nfs went allmost fine.
Had to edit fstab to add swap partition rd/c0d0p2.
Running lilo in install did not work.
Made boot floppy and can boot from there.
Are there any special parameters required for lilo to work on dac ?
ps. keyboard settings made in install didnt stick, had to reconfigure
keyboard afterwards, also removal of pcmcia stuff did not work.
