installation on TI laptop

I have purchased the debian based Corel.Linux package and am not
achieving an initial boot.
A major part of the problem is that the laptop uses the same physical
port for both the 3.5" and the cd-rom drives.

The laptop is currently loaded with dos 6.22 and has drivers that read
an external cd-rm via the computer's printer port. Loadlin starts but
quickly halts and requests that the index and root be specified, but
the Corel.Linux documentation is geared towards what follows
successful boots, which is not helpful for the won't-boot status I've
achieved so well.

I can also reach a unix prompt via Corel's boot floppy, via
"emergency".

I have managed to copy the smaller folders, eg, Tools, and have
unzipped
loadlin16, but when I attempt a Linux boot via loadlin.exe, the
program
quickly demands a zimage (or bzimage) designation as well as a root=
specificiation.

Question: How do I specify the Corel-Linux bzimage for use in loadlin?

Question: What ought I enter in the root= line?

Question: How can I copy the cd-rom's major Corel.Linux folders onto
the hd while in dos? (xcopy doesn't)

Answers and suggestions would be appreciated.

Teresa
