Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

Package: boot-floopies (the install program...)
Version: Latest one

When I tried to install debian using disk, it failed when it came to
the part where it extracts base2.1.tgz. I have tried using two
different sets of disks. Plus, this only seems to happen when I have
the filesystem paritioned into 1 for the root, and 1 for /usr, plus
a swap. When I looked around for the .tgz file in /target, it wasn't
there...

The message reported by the install should be *much* more informative

The potato boot-floppies has better error detection and reporting. We
believe this bug is fixed in the unstable version of the
boot-floppies.
