Massimo, we all care about the capability of automated installation.
Aside from the stuff hopefully enabled now by debconf (regaring
modification of other packages postinst scripts), couldn't you work
with the boot-floppies CVS area and try to help all of Debian benefit
from additional automation?

I should think the configuration you mentioned should be loadable not
just from local files but also via the network (http?) for "install
servers".
