Bug#42776: Toshiba notebook (Portege 320CT) restarts after kernel is loaded

My notebooks resets after the "Loading....." phase. I saw a similar bug
report
and I tried the resc1440, the tectra and the safe variants. Same effect.

I don't think that it is a A20-gate problem because I can boot a large
2.2.10
kernel without any problems.

To fix the problem (or at least to manage my installation) I built a
2.2.10 kernel with
ramdisk and minix fs support and made a boot disk out of it.
I put your root.bin on a seperate disk.

The only problem in the installation process is that the setup program
searches
a kernel in rescue1440-2.2.10.bin. Perhaps this point could be extended,
to be able
to select which kernel is installed, or where it should come from
(bootdisk!).
