Re: Strategy for boot-floppies



Sorry to not take my time to lurk the list first, but the thread
in -private says "debian-boot needs help" and I'm interested so
here am I.

Have you guys ever thought that the kernel in the boot disks
doesn't need to be the same kernel installed on the HD?

Once you get this perspective, you may cut off a whole lot of
drivers from it (I think). Perhaps it even fits with the root
image again.

Of course, there is a downside - in a floppy-only installation
you get yet another floppy.
