Package: Debian 2.1,

Machine: 486dx266 on a TEN motherboard, 850MB conner HD.

I have just installed debian on this machine from the 260MB dos partition(hda1)

The installation proceeds fine, but when I reboot I am faced with the following prompt

2AF:

If I press F, I can boot from the floppy. If I press A I get the following prompt

1234F:

And if I then press 1 it boots successfully into MS-DOS, but this is all I can do.

My other partitions are

hda1(DOS) 260MB
hda2(/) 50MB
hda3(SWAP) 20MB
hda4(/usr) 480MB

IF I boot from the custom floppy made during the install process then everything works fine...

I have not included my kernel as the same problem occured with an earlier version of debian as well...

Thanks,

Jamie Wood
