Bug#36948: boot-floppies: no (or bad) check for free disk space

Package: boot-floppies
Version: (Debian 2.1)
Severity: grave

[using the dpkg-multicd method]

When (erroneously) selecting a profile that would not fit on the
filesystem declared for installation, the installation was launched,
and, obviously, failed because of "not enough free disk space".

This left the system in a bad state, with ALL packages in the
unconfigured state, and not enough disk space to even configure them.

More important, the installation program then reported "no error",
although the prious lines made it obvious that dkpg had failed.

I had to remove some package, configure the remaining, fixing the
selections using dselect (which I wanted to avoid because of time
constrainsts), and resume install.
