Correct - it was a teany 60MB drive (for my dial up router).

I'd used dselect to select packages, so that I could try and get the
absoloute minimum that I needed.  What do you mean by 'aquisition method'?
I individually did +/- on the packages in dselect and then hit
on the installl selected packages.

The installation medium was on CDROM over NFS to my Linux/Alpha box.
