Package: bootdisk
Version: 2.1.4-1998-12-29

I'm trying to install slink from scratch on a new PC containing an =

Adaptec AIC-7880 SCSI controller. The kernel boots fine until it gets =

to the SCSI initialization bit, where it fails with the messages

  (scsi0) <Adaptec AIC-7880 Ultra SCSI host adapter> found at PCI 12/0
  (scsi0) Wide Channel, SCSI ID=3D7, 16/255 SCBs
(scsi0) Downloading sequencer code... 419 instructions downloaded

After this, it just sits there until the cows come home.

I've tried this with the special Adaptec boot disk with the same =

result. As a point of interest, a S.u.S.E. install floppy works fine, =

so the hardware should be O. K.

Anselm
