Bug#31903: boot-floppies 2.1.7 problems IBM ThinkPad 380Z

I have an IBM ThinkPad 380Z and have tried to use the 2.1.7 normal,
tecra, and tecra-safe disks: NONE work at all. I had to go find an old
hamm custom made install disk to install at all. I believe this bug
should be marked as critical since it would be very hard for someone
without debian already running on another machine to install slink.

I got the same error messages that the original poster reported. If you
need to install then the only way currently is to download the hacked
floppy of the Linux Notebook webpage (utexas) or make your own. If you
use the hacked floppy you will probably have to install hamm first and
then upgrade to slink/potato.
