As an alpha user, I can say I have seen little improvement on the boot
situation. The 'favored' method, MILO, is both unpleasant and slow.
I'll look into it to see how hard it would be to make a bootable CDROM
for alpha. I suspect that part of the trouble is the diverse
hardware.
