Bug#22782: regarding boot-floppies bug#22782 from 23 May 1998
Clif, I helped a user through a very similar problem.
First off, I notice that the next driver after 'md' is qlogicisp. I
think that what is happening is that the kernel is probing for the
qlogic controller, and that probe is somehow causing your system to
hang.
What I would suggest is that you try pulling out any non-required
ISA/PCI/MCA devices such as internal modems, sound cards, network
cards, etc., and try booting without those cards.
Let me know if you still need help. If we don't hear a response for a
while, we shall probably close this report.
