Package: resc1440.bin
Version: Debian 1.3 (bo)

I have a Micron Transport (original) P5/133 laptop. What I see is that when I
put the resc1440.bin disk in the drive a boot, it gets as far as init touching
the rc files, then the screen blanks. Actually, it doesn't blank, the
back-light turns off. This is highly weird, because I have been unable (didn't
try very hard, though) to get Linux to control the back-light on my system.
Yet the Debian install disk does it on boot...

Since APM is not built into the install kernel (so sayeth the README), I'm a
little confused as to what is causing this.

I'm willing to do some detective work, as well as try out fixes.
