This seems to be because the netinst CDs have netcfg-dhcp on them. That version was broken and did not depend on any dhcp clients; the udeb_include on the CD pulls in pump, pump is broken due to some library bug. The missing dhcp dependency was put back in version 0.34, which has been stuck in NEW for 10 days. (This is getting kinda annoying.) All my testing with the new netcfg finds that it works, unlike the one in the archive now. -- see shy jo
