Please file a bug about this (probably package ethdetect). 
Probably the airport driver is not included in any udeb. I added it to
the list for linux-kernel-di, but the powerpc kernel udebs have yet to
be transitioned to the new linux-kernel-di system. 
So this is another good reason to let the new powerpc kernel-image enter
the archive! (It's currently waiting in new)

As soon as there is a kernel module for the ariport card on the
installer image, we can test if this solves the problem or if we have to
add something more to support airport.
