I have no idea what might be the problem here. Ole, do you have some idea?

FWIW, the packages from the gis blend have all been removed from its tasks.
Removing packages from blends might not be supported properly.

I admit I'm a bit confused about this answer. Seems you have changed
subject, right?

I have not changed the subject.

And what exactly do you mean by "Removing packages from
blends might not be supported properly." ?

Your OP included packages from the gis blend:

 libcvaux-dev
 libcv-dev
 libhighgui-dev
 libnetcdf-cxx-legacy-dev
 libopencv-gpu-dev
 otb-bin
 otb-bin-qt
 python-gdal

All these packages have been removed from the tasks files:

 * libcv-dev, libcvaux-dev, libhighgui-dev

https://salsa.debian.org/blends-team/gis/-/commit/fd1a77a91d1117c014c884ccace5ff1a6e11bba7
 * libnetcdf-cxx-legacy-dev

https://salsa.debian.org/blends-team/gis/-/commit/85467c25a6f4f9301bd94196125a8b6634d4faf7
 * libopencv-gpu-dev

https://salsa.debian.org/blends-team/gis/-/commit/2c45eb56dcdb99074b8d75323fc684512b13d384
 * otb-bin, otb-bin-qt

https://salsa.debian.org/blends-team/gis/-/commit/3467e18d78b6dc1e1d8d4d054d0555b44c550658
 * python-gdal

https://salsa.debian.org/blends-team/gis/-/commit/d0e72d518bbe7a5e8249521daf64439bf85c2459

There is no English short description, because the package is no longer part of the blends tasks.

I haven't looked at the blendstasktools.py source to figure out why it complains about missing descriptions for packages that have been removed from blends tasks. But I suspect it might be working with data from the archive where the otb packages are still in the Recommends for gis-remotesensing as the change in git hasn't been uploaded yet. python-gdal was changed to python3-gdal in 2019, that hasn't been in any debian-gis uploads for quite a while.

Kind Regards,

Bas
