I want to make a distro and want to provide (newbie) users of it a easy way

about the configuration?

It is usually a good idea to add stuff to an existing distro (like
Debian or Ubuntu) rather than creating a new one.

Xorg is pretty good at autoconfiguring video cards these days, so your
idea should not be nessecary. The parts that are needed are probably
already done by Ubuntu, so you could just use Ubuntu.
Yeah I use Debian as distro. I only add some things and do some configuration. I prefer Debian above Ubuntu. Can you tell me what parts are needed for the video configuration and how I can do it (or Ubuntu did it?). Or can I find somewhere good info about it?

The xserver-xorg-video-all package in Debian should pull in all
available video drivers.

ok.

Thanks
