It seems that all the required operations were:

  ln -s sarge /usr/share/debian-cd/data/sid
  ln -s sarge /usr/share/debian-cd/tools/boot/sid

After that things seem to have gone well.

So I guess this is a bug of debian-cd's installations. I still have not
added my little custom udeb.
