RE: globus
I am part of the group which is converting Globus's GPT package format
into rpm's. So far there is as you say no work on deb's. When I get around
to it I want to look at Alien to see how feasible and easy it would be to
add GPT to its list of package formats. That would be the best thing
thing for everyone I expect if that could be achieved.

I just started a new job where our group works a lot on Globus, and Globus
development (i'm at NCSA), and while I've not actually had to do anything
with it yet (*just* started, so haven't gotten fully caught up to speed
yet), I asked around here, and the general consensus seems to be that RPMs
are being produced, but no one is working on Debian packages right now.
If someone out there knows better or otherwise, though, please speak up.
