reprepro fails with current linux backport

Hi all

I maintain a Linux distribution for Swiss schools. We have a local
repository of selected backports based on reprepro.

Since two days "reprepro update" fails with the following error message:

Calculating packages to get...
Error parsing ./lists/backports-debian11_bullseye-backports_main_Sources
line 14454: Ridiculous long (>= 256K) control chunk!
There have been errors!

Looking in the file backports-debian11_bullseye-backports_main_Sources
at line 14454 I find the linux package with REALLY long entries. The
first lines look like this:

Package: linux
Binary: linux-support-5.16.0-0.bpo.3, linux-doc-5.16, linux-doc,
bpftool, linux-cpupower, libcpupower1, libcpupower-dev, linux-perf,

loop-modules-5.16.0-0.bpo.3-alpha-generic-di, ...

This continues over many hundred lines...

Searching the webs for the reprepro error message I only found this bug
report in Debian:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=942487

Is there anything we can do to work around or even fix this problem?

Cheers

Ronny
