According to the history info from https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/git , the
backports upload of package git in the last several months was handled by the
package maintainer (Jonathan Nieder), not the debian-backports list. I am
forwarding your email to the package maintainer and see whether we can receive
a backported git 2.28 recently.
