Greetings, The stretch repository already has certbot and python-certbot-apache. This may seem silly, but did you run "apt update" before trying to install certbot and python-certbot-apache on your first try. I think you did rollback the addition of the repository and installed the packages from the stretch repository and not stretch-backports. Can you send the output of "apt show certbot python-certbot-apache -a"?
