dpkg: error processing package qemu-user-static (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

To fix it, qemu-user-static needs to be purged and then reinstalled
using the version in jessie already. The backport appears to be broken.
