I've the following sources.list --

However the backports dont show up in any package manager --
# aptitude -t wheezy-backports show libreoffice-gtk
Try "apt-cache policy libreoffice-gtk" instead:

Wild guess, aptitude is confused by your having two “wheezy-backports”
entry. Getting this here:

with only ftp.$CC.debian.org and security.d.o in sources.list
