This is indeed strange that you wasn't able to install "xpra" in
backports. I tested xpra before upload in clean chroot and I installed
it from backports more than once. After your email I tried again and
indeed "xpra" installed successfully from backports in clean chroot.
Alternative depends on libwebpN is a historical thing. In later
versions of Xpra I fixed this by un-bundling "python-webm" to
standalone package which calculates dependencies on build time.
