powertop on squeeze segfaults if one uses a backports kernel

Hi all,

Newer kernels (e.g. the 3.2.0 in bpo) have something about them that causes 
squeeze's powertop to seg. fault shortly after it first draws the screen.

Newer powertop (2.0+) seems to work fine. Do you think someone could 
backport the current wheezy powertop to squeeze?
