 Actually, Niels did approach me with that idea a few days ago already.
I'm uncertain what that entails and if it would be the proper approach -
my original idea was to do version-based tag handling, though that might
not be the cleanest approach.  I haven't read up on vendor profiles yet,
but as Niels suggested to me to use them it might be correct. :)

 It would need someone to pick up the task though, currently it would
just be added to the stack of things to do for me that I have no clue
when I will get down lower again.

 So why not use lintian from lenny-backports or squeeze-backports then?
