It might be a bit of a pain to backport mpd because of all of the
dependencies (e.g. libavformat53 and libflac8 are not in squeeze). Did
you try contacting the mpd maintainers
(pkg-mpd-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org)? They might have a better
idea about how strict some of these dependencies are.
