http://backports.debian.org/Instructions/ says:

  Please report bugs that you found in the packages to the backports
  mailinglist and NOT to the Debian BTS!

... so forwarding to debian-backports.

I'd like to see a newer version of grub2 in backports; 1.97~beta3 is
pretty archaic and we do occasionally get people asking us upstream if
there's a newer version available.  I don't have time to do this myself,
but I can offer help to somebody who does.
