If the bug replicates in an unstable or testing environment, file the
bug on that version in the BTS. If not, then it's probably
backport-specific, and may not be worth the time to track it down (but
you can e-mail the maintainer about it.)

Because they're an unofficial part of Debian. Debian package
maintainers are free to use the BTS to track backport-specific bugs if
they want, though.
