Backporting gcc-4.3 to ... woody?

Hi all,

sorry for this weird question here, but for special project we need to
use woody as a base for the client's static binaries, but we would like
to get rid off gcc-3. However, taking the current packages from
lenny/squeeze and trying to modify the dependencies has not helped much
(especially the multi-arch support is pretty hard for us "newbies"). Is
there a relatively painless way to get it down *just* for i386?

Thanks for any hint.

Cheers

Carsten
