it's an error if part of the packages are introduced in Packages.gz
anyway ("all or nothing" situation).
Hi,2.4 was successfully built on powerpc (that's the version available in Lenny and sid for powerpc). The backport upload is only a few days old, so presumable you just have to wait for the package to be built.
The older versions of the *_all* packages are still available, you can download on install them manually with dpkg -i if you so wish:
