Re: Bug#446105: The kdewebdev broken on etch-backports for i386

Dear Ana,

Thank you for your message. I have already send the email to backports-users@lists.backports.org but it is waiting to get approved. In the meantime I think I have understood what is the problem that might be blocking this porting. I have a solution that has solved it in my case.

The problem comes from trying to compile in etch the kdesdk source package, kdesdk_3.5.7-3~bpo40+1. It complains in the configure script that /lib/cpp is issuing an error.
I have added g++ to the building dependences and it now is compiling OK.
Once kdesdk is ok than kdewebdev compilation is straightforward.

Is it possible that the pbuilder environment for amd64 already assumes by default g++ and therefore, the problem only rises on i386?

All the best,
António Amorim

I am trying to install the kdewebdev that is available as upgrades from
etch-backports.
Everything is OK for the architecture amd64 but for i386 the package is
broken because:

1 - kdewebdev_3.5.7-2~bpo40+1_all.deb depends on quanta version 3.5.7. 2 - quanta_3.5.7-2~bpo40+1_amd64.deb is available but the correswponding i386 backport is not. 3 - If etch-backports is in sources.list, apt-get just prevents
installing kdewebdev alltogether.

Please provide the backport also for architecture i386.

1. You have to wait until it is built in all the archs. 2. BTS is not for backport bugs. Use backports-users AT lists.backports.org.

Ana
