After upgrading to the mentioned version, I experienced reproducable crashs (sig 11) of the mysql daemon when executing certain queries. The problem might be related to this bug: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=403721 I got myself the old 5.0.30 .deb from my cache and set mysql-server-5.0 on hold, however I would appreciate a new package version in the backports repository soon :-)
