Building openoffice.org on powerpc
Have fun. Last time someone tried that it failed miserably on ppc. For
the record, which JDK do you use? Use IBM 1.4.
I followed your advice and installed IBM 1.4.
If you need some patches, please send them to me so I can include them
(for patches to ooo-build you also need to have a signed JCA, see
http://contributing.openoffice.org/programming.html)
And note you'll have to build it for ppc32...
Ok, that's what I tried. And I failed. Just for your information, I get an error compiling ridljar (see the log at the bottom). I don't know how to move on from there.
The next backport (whose building I will start now) won't have those |'s
anymore.
Oh, I noticed the dependency for powerpc was j2sdk1.4-ibm and it should be ibm-j2sdk1.4. At least that's the package I get with make-jpkg.
Trying a ppc backport with 2.0.3 is on my TODO list...
Good luck! I guess I can be added to the "failed miserably on ppc" list ... But if you need some testing of the new backport I'll be glad to help.
