If you can do it yourself, do it, upload it somewhere, post the URL to
the package sources on this list and ask for review. At least I will
look at it for sure (and will upload it, if everything is fine). Note,
that you need to update the backport on your own, subscribing to the PTS
is recommendet.

If you cannot do it yourself, ask the maintainer of it.
