Yes, but then you have to run an apt-get install for every backported
package. For xfce which consists of not that many binary packages isn't
the problem, but for KDE it's a mess (and yes, partial-only upgrade
doesn't work - either you use the sarge KDE version, or the backported one).

As written before, a single-directory with pinning allows a simple

	apt-get upgrade (or apt-get dist-upgrade)

to upgrade all installed (official) KDE packages.
