Document Processor
LyX is an almost WYSIWYG-frontend for LaTeX. It makes the power and
typesetting quality of LaTeX available for people who are used to
word processors. Since LyX supports LaTeX's concept of general
mark-ups, it is even easier and faster to create professional quality
documents with it than with usual word processors. It is also
possible to use LaTeX commands within LyX, so nothing of LaTeX's
power is lost.
.
You can extend the functionality of LyX by installing these packages:
* chktex: check for typographical errors
* dvipost: display tracked changes in DVI format output
* gnuhtml2latex: import HTML documents
* groff: improved table formatting in plain text exports
* linuxdoc-tools: export SGML LinuxDoc documents
* noweb: import noweb files
* rcs: integrated version control
* sgmltools-lite: export SGML DocBook documents
* tex4ht, hevea, tth, or latex2html: export HTML documents
* texlive-latex-extra: more styles and packages
* wv: import MS Word documents

* New upstream release
+ URLs in footnotes containing '#' or '%23' work again. Closes: #529937
* Add patches/boost-mt. Starting with boost 1.38.0 the -mt suffix in the
soname is back so we've to modify some makefiles to let it link again.
Closes: #530469, #533427
* Lift Build-Depends on libboost-dev up to 1.38.0 - otherwise the
boost-mt patch will be harmful.
* Add debian/patches/detect-elyxer. Modifies configure.py to search
for 'elyxer' and 'elyxer.py'.
* Update Standards-Version to 3.8.2 - no changes required.

* Update Standards-Version to 3.8.1 without any changes.
* Move the -e flag in the (post|pre)inst scripts from the shebang

with a different shell for debugging purpose.
.
lyx (1.6.1-1) unstable; urgency=low

[ Per Olofsson ]
* Don't recommend postscript-viewer. Those who need one know how to get
it, and a PDF reader is enough for most people.
.
[ Sven Hoexter ]

+ Add missing includes for cstdio as it won't be included indirectly

lib/images/lyx.png file to 32x32 XPM file.
* Remove empty /usr/share/lyx/images/commands directory from lyx-common.
.
[ Per Olofsson ]
* Remove texlive-latex-base dependency from lyx-common, as it already
depends on tex-common via ${misc:Depends}, and that's all that's
really necessary.
* Remove debian/lyx-common.postrm. It was only deleting /etc/lyxrc,
which is not necessary since the file is deleted in preinst.
* Don't remove profiling.py, there's no reason.
.
lyx (1.6.0~beta4-1) experimental; urgency=low

[ Sven Hoexter ]

* Use new features in debhelper v7 to shorten debian/rules.
* Misc improvements to debian/rules.
* Point to new lyx icon in png format from /usr/share/icons.
* Use dh_installtex to update ls-R files from maintainer scripts. Will do
it faster than plain texhash.

* Suggest cups-client instead of cupsys-client.
* Add debian/README.source.
* Bump Standards-Version to 3.8.0.
