Indeed Debian always builds native, though "native"
does include running 32-bit userlands on 64-bit kernels.

Pi4s are now available with 8GB of ram, not as much as the "server"
hardware granted, but enough to pretty much max out the address space
for two 32-bit processes at the same time.

You can rackmount damn near anything if you put a bit of effort in.

A Pi4 can be set up with a serial console and netboot and turns on
when the power is applied (no need to press any buttons). Contrast
this to the asus arm64 server board I have access to, which according to
the hoster needs to be poked over IPMI after a power cycle before it
will turn back on and which sometimes fails to come back after a soft
reboot.

In terms of power cycling, what Mythic Beasts do for their hosted Pis
is to use a POE hat, then turn on and off the port power on the
network switch. They don't have HDDs/SSDs attached though, which you
would want for a buildbox, and i'm not sure if the PoE hat as the
current capability to reliably run a Pi4+HDD.
