Re: this mornings update bricked my pi.

I agree, with the caveat that not all adapters are created equal. We've got some branded "Canyon" which take both full-sized and Micro SDCards, and their performance is much better- in terms of both speed and reliability- than older ones. http://canyon.eu/product/cne-card2/

I'd also warn people to be /very/ careful with any RPi case that doesn't fasten the board down well, I've managed to physically crack two cards by getting them wedged against the edge of the slot: I'm not naturally hamfisted and aren't happy about it. And those cards were flashing once or twice at boot...

Hmm, only 1 Pi and 1 SD card? Got a reader for the SD card you can
use to fsck the card in another Linux box? Heck, you should be able
to mount it and do stuff to it. Might be able to find a reader at a
photo place.

It flashes the green led 3 or 4 times in the first second of powerup, and
dead, so I assume the sd card is now trashed.

This was rasbian, running a special pre-empt-rt kernel.

Where can I find some help?

Thanks.
