No network on OpenRD-Ultimate with today's D-I build?
Dear all,
I ordered an OpenRD-Client to Globalscale Technologies and they sent me an
OpenRD-Ultimate instead… I just tried the Debian Installer on it and could not
get the network to work: I can not get an IP address by DHCP, and can not reach
other computers if I set up an IP manually. I do not know if it is because of
the unexpected hardware difference or not.
First problem, I do not know what ArcNumber to give to u-boot. I tried 2325
(OpenRD-Base) and 2361 (OpenRD-client), and it did not made observable
differences. I looked for other ArcNumber at the following URL, but could not
find. http://www.arm.linux.org.uk/developer/machines/download.php
On a separate Debian system (i386), I have set up a DHCP server (dnsmask), a
tftp daeomn (tftp-hpa), and a serial console terminal (screen). The OpenRD box
and the other Debian system are on the same LAN via a switch.
>From the u-boot system, I can get an IP from the DHCP server:
Marvell>> dhcp
mvEgigaInit: egiga0 init -by ddb mvBoardPhyAddrGet()=0x0 , priv->port =0x0 by ddb
BOOTP broadcast 1

>From the Fedora system that is shipped in the NAND memory, I can also get
receive an IP by DHCP.
Booting the Debian Installer via tftp works well, despite a couple of hicups
(the “T”s):
Marvell>> tftpboot 0x01100000 uInitrd
mvEgigaInit: egiga0 init -by ddb mvBoardPhyAddrGet()=0x0 , priv->port =0x0 by ddb
Using egiga0 device

Filename 'uInitrd'.

Marvell>> tftpboot 0x00800000 uImage
mvEgigaInit: egiga0 init -by ddb mvBoardPhyAddrGet()=0x0 , priv->port =0x0 by ddb
Using egiga0 device

Then, the installer is started, but it does not manage to get an IP with DHCP:
