 *sigh*.  that's something else i didn't know - thank you for
enlightening me, mark.

 ... y'know... in 2005 or so i created an initrd for the HTC blueangel
containing dropbear, g_ether and a version of XF86 Xfbdev at the time.
 the statically-linked binary for Xfbdev was around 380k.  that's a
sodding big jump to what xorg is now.  you have to ask yourself what
it's all for, and if it's worth it.
