Re: Libidl0 compilation error

Martin,

Thanks for the responding again.

I checked my version of Make - seemed to be the exact same one that you have.

dhcp-10-222-4-159:~# apt-get install make
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
make is already the newest version.
make set to manually installed.
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  libttf2
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.

dhcp-10-222-4-159:~# make --version
GNU Make 3.81

I also diff'ed our libtool files (see attachment). There doesn't seem to be much of a difference except for F77 tags on your configuration that are absent in mine.

Thanks

I notice that the quotation style changes between the "libtool" line
and the "cc" line.

Next guess: do you have a stripped-down version of "make" - here I am
using gmake in both cases.

martin@n2100:~/arm/libidl-0.8.10$ make --version
GNU Make 3.81

Next guess: "./libtool" is rebuilt during the compilation, and it is
coming out wrong.
Here (attached) is the "./libtool" it generates on armel here. Diffing
it with yours might give a clue. (Maybe you need to ugrade your armel
system to fix something that was broken?)

If you want to look into system differences further, please write
privately for an ssh account
