There are packages in debian 9at least in testing/unstable) for the
rt2x00 driver.

Try:
apt-get install rt2x00-source
m-a a-i -t rt2x00

It might work.  Not sure if it is arm compatible or not.

There is also rt2500-source and rt2570-source for the older variant of
the driver.
