My understanding is that the Intel microcode (even in the 2.4 version of
the license, which is less restrictive than earlier licenses) is still
not DFSG compliant, and therefore cannot be part of the installer image
distributed by Debian.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong, cause then I wouldn't need to put
modified Debian release firmware images on www.slug-firmware.net :-)
